Hi All, I just got back from Europe where I have been visiting the FTE Maximal factories. FTE Maximal now has offices and factories –in Spain, France, Germany to name a few. Here I toured the Central Office in Barcelona Spain including R&D and also France where they manufacturer field strength meters in France. If your even remotely interested in Television Reception products it’s certainly a learning experience. I’ve uploaded picture’s to our facebook profile whereby you can view various parts of the tour. http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2029333&id=1254841969&l=c0f01e0a9d Most notably and exciting was the site visit’s in Southern Spain where I got to see full installation’s done and also ongoing retrofits of headends in Hotels. If you do any MATV work or SMATV then these pics will interest you. Most notable was the installation of many channels, all in VSB modulation. Adjacent channels with no problem at all. Some would say what was the end picture like, well it was very good considering they don’t adopt the standards we have in Australia. -They don’t use quad shield cable at all. Only duo. -They don’t even use crimp connectors-All screw on Now this is very true and there standards are set all over Europe like this. In Spain they have ICT government regulations which require them to build and install particular quality TV/IT systems by law in ALL buildings….but still no quad cable or crimp connectors. It’s great to see the world doesn’t revolve around Foxtel standards, which now have become almost Australian standards. I don’t knock Foxtel as they have implemented worlds best practice when it comes to installations, but it’s also comforting to know you can build a TV system without that added expense when not required. Next week we kick off our Indy (cough) Gold Coast Super GP promo. Not long now, only 2 weeks and were all revving again. Stay tuned for more info next week. If you have ever attended our previous years Adigitalife INDY festivities, then you’ll be looking forward again to this years. We plan to go bigger and louder J Have a great weekend!! Kind Regards Jason |
